Job description

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Fleet Controller to manage and coordinate the daily operations of company vehicles and drivers. The successful candidate will ensure optimal fleet utilisation, compliance, cost control, and timely service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and monitor daily vehicle movements
• Track vehicles and ensure efficient route planning
• Manage driver schedules, attendance, and performance
• Ensure compliance with road traffic regulations and company policies
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance, servicing, and repairs
• Monitor fuel usage and control fleet-related costs
• Maintain accurate fleet records and reporting
• Handle breakdowns, incidents, and emergency situations
• Liaise with operations, logistics, and security teams

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience as a Fleet Controller or similar role
• Strong knowledge of vehicle tracking systems and logistics operations
• Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills
• Computer literacy (Excel, email, fleet management systems)
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Advantageous

• Relevant qualification in logistics or transport management
• Experience in security or high‑risk fleet>
• Knowledge of Durban routes and KZN region
