Fitter & Turner / Machinist required in Bedford.

A well established engineering firm based just outside of Bedford is seeking a qualified or highly experienced Fitter & Turner / Machinist.

Accommodation and fuel will be provided by the client.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Machinist or Fitter & Turner/Machinist
• Sound knowledge of machining principles, tool setup and material properties
• Proficiency in both MANUAL and general workshop fabrication
• Strong attention to detail with ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Reliable, disciplined and committed to producing quality engineering work
• Own vehicle preferred
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate lathes, milling machines and related workshop equipment
• Manufacture and repair cylinders, bushes and shafts to exact tolerances
• Perform thread cutting and fine machining operations with precision and accuracy
• Carry out welding and fabrication, including CO2, Arc and Aluminium welding
• Interpret technical drawings and engineering blueprints with precision
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship, safety and equipment care.
