Job Description

The Financial Accountant is responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance, and providing insights to support business decisions.

• Revenue Recognition and Management: Manage invoicing and recovery of amounts due from property owners and stakeholders.
• Payments and Cash Book Management: Process and verify all payments, maintain daily cash records, and reconcile transactions with bank statements.
• Financial Records: Record, classify, and reconcile transactions according to IFRS / GAAP standards.
• Financial Control and Balance Sheet Integrity: Monitor and maintain accuracy of balance sheet accounts.
• Tax Management: Ensure compliance with tax laws and timely submissions.
• Management Accounts: Prepare and review monthly performance reports and audit balance sheet accounts.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, manage risks, and implement controls.
• Audit Management: Coordinate internal and external audits, address findings promptly.
• Cost Management: Analyze financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with investors, banks, and financial partners transparently.
• Financial System Optimization: Improve financial reporting efficiency through system evaluation and implementation.
• Revenue and Profitability Analysis: Analyze revenue streams and profitability to support strategic decisions.
• Inter-group Activities: Review financial data and support financial management within the group structure.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting Science, or related field from an SAICA- or SAIPA-accredited institution.

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years as an Accountant.
• At least 3 years managing staff.
• At least 5 years in a finance department with SARS and statutory submissions experience.
• Experience in the travel industry or similar environment is advantageous.

Knowledge:

• Proficiency with Xero accounting software and bank file imports.
• Strong skills in Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of SARS and statutory submissions, CIPC submissions, and FICA regulations.
