Strategic Finance & Business Partnering

  • Act as a trusted finance partner to the Managing Director and leadership team, challenging performance and supporting sound decision‑making.
  • Lead financial strategy, business planning, forecasting, and rolling forecasts.
  • Identify and drive value‑creation initiatives through data‑driven insights and commercial analysis.
  • Support pricing strategy, margin optimisation, cost management, and profitability improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate strategic investments, CAPEX, joint ventures, and acquisition opportunities.
Financial Management & Reporting
  • Full accountability for monthly reporting, budgets, forecasts, and management accounts.
  • Lead Monthly Business Reviews and present financial performance to executive leadership.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital optimisation, and overall financial position.
  • Oversee production planning reviews and monitor price and cost variances.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting in line with IFRS and Group standards.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead internal and external audit processes.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and risk management practices.
  • Manage tax compliance, credit control, insurance, and governance processes.
Leadership & People Management
  • Lead, develop, and coach a high‑performing local finance team.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a role model aligned to company values, with strong emphasis on ethics, safety, and employee engagement.
  • Operate effectively within a unionised and manufacturing environment where applicable.
Stakeholder & Matrix Collaboration
  • Act as the main finance interface with Shared Services.
  • Collaborate closely with Group Finance, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and Internal Control teams.
  • Build strong relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
The Successful Applicant
  • Senior finance leadership experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience at leading Nigerian or multinational organisations.
  • Proven experience operating in a matrix organisation.
  • Track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving commercial outcomes.
  • Exposure to unionised environments is advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification strongly preferred (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
Technical Skills
  • Strong finance business partnering and commercial finance capability.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • SAP experience (essential).
  • Power BI or similar analytics tools.
  • Solid understanding of IFRS, tax, internal controls, and working capital management.
