Key Responsibilities
Technical & Operational Excellence
  • Lead engineering services across terminal to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations.
  • Manage asset integrity, maintenance programs, and capital projects aligned with Shell’s technical standards and Business Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and Shell’s Performance Framework.
Leadership & Strategic Influence
  • Lead cross-functional teams at terminal level in delivering engineering solutions that support business goals.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Drive change management initiatives to improve operational efficiency and safety performance.
  • Influence senior stakeholders by presenting data-driven insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Champion Shell’s values in safety, sustainability, and diversity across all engineering activities.
Stakeholder & Contract Management
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, contractors, and external consultants.
  • Act as contract owner for strategic engineering services, ensuring performance and compliance.
  • Collaborate with global Shell teams to share best practices and innovations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, related field).
  • Proficient in MS office.
  • Code B drivers license.
  • Candidate with Engineering Council of South Africa.
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years in facility or terminal engineering, with leadership experience in asset management and project execution.
Technical Proficiency
  • Strong understanding of distribution infrastructure and reliability engineering.
  • Proficient in SAP, CAPEX, and engineering design tools.
  • Familiarity with Shell’s HSSE standards and risk management frameworks.
