Job summary

A construction chemicals company located in Durban seeks a sales professional to generate profitable sales through various channels. The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting financial targets, building customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities. Applicants with at least 3 years of experience in the construction chemical industry and a valid driver's license will be given preference. This role requires dedication to teamwork and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ sales experience in construction chemical industry.
  • Knowledge with specifying systems is an advantage.
  • Valid driver's licence and own transport.

Overview

The role requires the incumbent to generate profitable sales through wholesalers, retailers, contractors and professionals and maintain the customer base and increase market share.

Responsibilities

Main duties include but are not limited to:

  • Meet monthly and annual sales targets for the region;
  • Maintain awareness of financial targets and assists the team appropriately to meet all targets;
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers;
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within regions;
  • Sell basket of products to commercial industry;
  • Provide customer and site support as necessary;
  • Specifying of finishes & related systems for industry;
  • Promote high margin products over lower margin products;
  • Update and monitor data build & new leads monthly;
  • Follow up on customer requirements for stock;
  • Compliance with the requirements of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Promote positive teamwork in the department and within the company strategy;
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety standards in the factory and when out on sites with customers;
Qualifications
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Diploma in Sales/Marketing would be an added advantage
  • Minimum 3 years’ sales experience in construction chemical industry
  • Knowledge with specifying systems is an advantage
  • Valid driver's licence and own transport
  • Cement and concrete institute course would be an added advantage.
