Minimum Requirements, Experience and Knowledge
- Minimum 3 year Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Natural Science or Environmental Management or equivalent
- Sound knowledge on risk assessment and management and ISO 14001 systems global reporting initiative GRI
- Must have appropriate understanding of the environmental management issues related to environmental sectin for which responsibility has been assigned to.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation NEMA, NEMWA, NEMAQA, NWA, Environmental permitting processes and International Standards
- 5-8 years experience in Environmental management

- Medical Certificate of Fitness
- Computer Literacy
- Fluency in both verbal and written English is essential
- Code 8 Driver’s license

Roles and Responsibilities
- Oversee the management function of Environmental management across Free State Operations.
- Ensure adherence to conditions of Environmental authorisations and compliance to relevant Environmental legislations.
- Provide technical inputs and support to operational business units.
- Maintain ISO 14001 Environmental management system.l
- Builds a motivated and unified performance driven team and liaises with interested and affected parties.
- Identify environmental risks and develop solutions.
- Ensure compliance to Harmony Environmental policies and procedures.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and relevant business units to maintain compliance and participate in relevant management meetings.
- Liaise and engage with Regulators, municipalities, communities etc.
- Conduct internal and external Environmental audits.
- Monitor GRI input reports, board reports and performance against licence conditions and action planning on non-compliance and policies, systems, practices, standards, procedures at the operations
- Encourage a more engaged and proactive safety culture.l
- Demonstrate felt visible leadership by developing self and adopting a collaborative leadership style aligned to Harmony values.
