Job description

A Vacancy exists for an Enrolled Nurse specialized in a unit at Life Queenstown Private Hospital, reporting to the Unit Manager, Pam Naidoo. The successful candidate will ensure delivery of uncompromising quality care in line with company objectives and applicable health/nursing legislation.

Critical Outputs
  • Conduct basic duties as allocated by the Unit Manager.
  • Ensure the unit is run according to acceptable legal standards.
  • Maintain excellent individualized patient and customer care in accordance with Life Healthcare standards.
  • Maintain sound relationships and communication with patients, relatives and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Build professional relationships with doctors and therapists to promote patient-doctor interaction.
  • Maintain all Health, Safety and Infection Control Standards.
  • Be proactive in ensuring patient safety.
  • Always portray a professional attitude towards patients, visitors, doctors and fellow staff members.
Requirements
  • Qualification as an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Experience in a specialised unit is advantageous.
  • Registration with SANC.
  • Ability to work shifts according to the operational requirements of the hospital.
  • Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges and role players would be an advantage.
  • Must be able to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment.
