A well-established financial services company isseeking an experienced Employee Benefits Consultant to join their teamon a full-time, permanent basis. This advisory role focuses on managingthe full spectrum of death, disability, and funeral claims, ensuringcompliance with legislation and company standards. The successful candidatewill act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expert guidance onemployee benefits products and engaging at a strategic level — not in anadministrative support capacity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional advice to clients in line with theFAIS Act and company policies.
  • Manage and service a portfolio of employee benefitclients, ensuring high levels of client retention and satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present reports and meeting packs toemployer forums and trustee boards.
  • Oversee claims management for death, disability, andfuneral benefits, ensuring timely resolution and compliance.
  • Liaise with insurers and stakeholders to facilitateunderwriting, claims, and benefit payments.
  • Conduct annual benefit reviews, benchmarking, and riskre-brokes for clients.
  • Support client communication and member engagementstrategies.
  • Monitor compliance with fund governance, section 14transfers, and trustee requirements.
  • Contribute to new business development and assist inmergers, acquisitions, and client conversions.
  • Stay informed of legislative and market changes andcommunicate updates internally and to clients.
  • Manage and mentor support staff within the consultingdivision.
Requirements
  • Membership of a Professional Body (e.g. FPI) would be advantageous
  • Minimum of 5 years' working experience in similar environment
  • 3-5 years' Employee Benefits Consulting Experience
  • Strong knowledge of Employee Benefit industry
  • Strong knowledge of Pension Funds, FAIS and related Legislation
  • Compliance and governance of Pension Fund Structures
  • Good understanding and interpretation of Pension funds, FAIS and related Legislation
  • Financial Advisory knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Retirement Fund Law
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel Advanced, PowerPoint, Outlook)
