Job summary

A marine employment agency is seeking an experienced electrician for a role on board a vessel. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, troubleshooting issues, and supervising junior crew. Candidates must have a high school diploma, completed an electrician apprenticeship, and possess a valid electrician's license. Ideal applicants have at least 3 years of marine or industrial experience and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

Job description

- Install, maintain, and repair all electrical systems and equipment onboard the vessel, including generators, motors, lighting, and control systems

- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, and perform necessary repairs

- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of electrical systems to ensure they are functioning properly and in compliance with safety regulations

- Maintain accurate records of all electrical work performed and report any issues or concerns to the Chief Engineer

- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new electrical systems and equipment

- Train and supervise junior electrician and other crew members on proper electrical procedures and safety protocols

- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your fellow crew members

- Keep up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in electrical systems and equipment

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program

- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as an electrician in a marine or industrial setting

- Knowledge of marine electrical systems and equipment, including generators, motors, and control systems
