Job summary

A leading steel manufacturing company in Durban is seeking a skilled individual to provide technical support in plant production and maintenance. The role requires a minimum of N6 Electrical or a Diploma S4 in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering, and 5–10 years of experience in a steel environment. Responsibilities include driving safety initiatives, conducting project and contractor management, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. An excellent grasp of electrical systems and PLC/HMI software is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in a steel environment.
• Experience with HMI and PLC software.
• Computer literate, preferably with SAP.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to plant production and maintenance operations.
• Assist with training and high‑level fault‑finding.
• Drive safety initiatives and ensure compliance with standards.
• Conduct standby and shift duties as required.
