Job summary

A government health department in Gauteng is looking for a Driver to execute transportation trips for patients and staff. The ideal candidate must have Grade 10 or equivalent, a valid code 10 (C1)/(EB) driver's licence, and a valid PDP. Responsibilities include checking vehicle conditions and complying with safety regulations. This position requires good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.   • Package : R 193 359.00 – R 227 766.00 per annum (plus benefits)

Requirements :

  • Grade 10 or equivalent qualification. Valid code 10 (C1)/ (EB) drivers’ licence and valid PDP. Ability to work under pressure and as a team be able to work independently. Must be able to read and write good communication and interpersonal skills. Be prepared to work shifts and on public holidays. Must also be able to drive and operate the tractor with implements.NB: Driving test and medical assessment are compulsory.

Duties :

  • Execute all authorized transportation trips of patients, staff, documents, and other requirements to and from various destinations. Check the condition of the vehicle and the level of oil, fuel, water, and tyres at times before driving a vehicle. Report minor and major accident defects on vehicles to the Supervisor or Manager immediately. Always comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Acts prescripts and procedures. Attend to enquiries in a professional manner; give guidance and advice when required. Promote proper handling, safekeeping and control of government vehicles and accessories always. Ensure that your driver’s licence and PDP are always valid and in your possession. Operate a tractor with implements when required to carry out those responsibilities. Keep the state vehicles always clean and tidy. Knowledge of transport policies and good understanding of Government Fleet.NB Driving test and medical assessment are compulsory.
