Job summary

A leading heavy equipment company in Mpumalanga seeks a qualified artisan to supervise dragline maintenance. The role demands at least 10 years of dragline experience and 5 years in a supervisory capacity. Responsibilities include managing safety, technical support on repairs, and building customer relations. Candidates must possess leadership skills, effective communication abilities and be medically fit. A basic management qualification is advantageous and candidates should hold a Code EB driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of dragline experience required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role mandatory.
• Knowledge of Safety and MHSA requirements is essential.

Key Outputs

• Achievement of a team environment that enables maximum productivity and profitability includes management of Human Resource Value chain.
• Effective management of safety, health, environment and quality risks.
• Discharge the duties of your legal appointment (2.6.1).
• Implement and manage quality control
• Manage and allocate functions of direct and indirect reports.
• Provide technical expertise on dragline repairs and rebuilds during services and shutdowns
• Take ownership of the dragline maintenance management for the area of appointment.
• Build and maintain customer relations
• Manage progress and timelines during dragline maintenance events.
• Manage WIP for area of responsibility.
• Prepare reports as and when required.
• Attend Site meetings, customer meetings and other relevant meetings as and when required.
• Provide technical support to customers.
• Assist with Scope of work planning for dragline services and shutdowns
• Assist with maintenance planning.

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

• Qualified artisan
• Minimum 10 years dragline experience
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Supervisory role
• Experienced in the management of dragline shutdown work
• Knowledge of Safety and MHSA requirements.
• Basic management qualification would be beneficial - SDP or MDP
• Knowledge of MS Projects and other MS Office programs, CRM, SAP will be an advantage
• Good communication (written, verbal and presentation) and effective negotiation skills
• Sound business and financial acumen and Knowledge
• Ability to work independently, under pressure and meeting deadlines
• Ability to show initiative by thinking creatively
• Medically fit and able to obtain a Certificate of Fitness
• Code EB drivers’ licence
