Job summary

A leading Retail Group in Durban is seeking a qualified HR Professional with at least 5 years of experience in HR and knowledge of Industrial Relations. The position involves representing the company at Trade Union negotiations, recruitment of staff, and managing HR information. Retail experience is highly advantageous. Candidates must be South African citizens, criminally clear, and willing to travel and possibly relocate.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of HR experience as a Generalist.
  • Experience in Industrial Relations and Recruitment & Selection.
  • Retail experience is a huge advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Company at the CCMA Trade Union negotiations.
  • Responsible for recruitment of branch staff.
  • Compile HR Management Information.
  • Interface with payroll for monthly reports.
  • Consult with Management on HR issues.

My client a leading Retail Group wants to reward suitably qualified and experienced HR Professional with an exciting career opportunity.

The position is based in Durban, KZN.

The incumbent will also spend 2 weeks a month in Bloemfontein servicing the Free State branches.

Requirements
  • Human Resources experience of at least 5 years as a Generalist.
  • Sound experience in Industrial Relations and Recruitment & Selection.
  • Retail experience will be a HUGE advantage.
  • Qualification of at least a National Diploma in the HR field.
  • Good planning, interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Effective writing skills in English.
  • Must be fluent in at least one African language.
  • Must have represented an employer at the CCMA at Arbitration level.
  • Must have liaised / negotiated with Trade Unions.
  • Must have a code 08 driving license and be willing to travel extensively.
  • Must have a valid passport.
  • SA Citizens only.
  • Must be Criminal Clear.
  • Must reside in Durban (or be willing to relocate possibly at your cost).
Duties
  • Represent the Company at the CCMA Trade Union negotiations.
  • Responsible for recruitment of branch staff.
  • Compilation of HR Management Information.
  • Interface with the payroll to collect monthly report information.
  • Consulting with Management, line and staff regarding HR issues.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to assessments.
