We are an ambitious independent media agency headquartered in Leeds, working across the full media landscape for a growing roster of clients. As part of our next phase of growth, we are building a dedicated digital media operations hub based in South Africa. This role is a pivotal hire for us. The Digital Media Specialist will be the founding member of this hub and will play a central role in shaping how digital media is delivered, optimised and reported across the agency. This is an opportunity to help design best practice from the ground up and to build a team over time.

The Role

The Digital Operations Director is responsible for the delivery, optimisation and reporting of all paid search and paid social activity across the agency, with a core focus on Google and Meta platforms. You will own day to day campaign performance, ensure consistent quality of output, and work closely with UK based strategy and client teams to deliver excellent results for clients. This role suits someone who loves specialising in paid search and paid social, is highly organised, and is motivated by improving efficiency through automation, process design and innovation. As the hub grows, you will have the opportunity to hire, train and lead additional team members.

Paid Media Delivery and Optimisation

Own the setup, management and optimisation of all Google and Meta campaigns across the agency. Ensure campaigns are built to best practice standards and aligned to client objectives and budgets. Proactively monitor performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, scale success and resolve issues quickly.

Reporting and Performance Analysis

Be responsible for consistent and accurate reporting across all digital campaigns. Build and maintain reporting templates and dashboards that provide clear insight into performance. Translate data into actionable insight that supports client decision making and optimisation recommendations.

Process, Efficiency and Automation

Design and refine processes for campaign setup, optimisation and reporting within the digital hub. Explore and implement automation solutions to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort and increase consistency. Stay close to platform updates and new tools, ensuring Invested clients benefit from the latest innovations.

Collaboration with Strategy and Client Teams

Work closely with UK based account leads to ensure digital activity aligns with broader media strategies. Provide input into channel recommendations, budget phasing and performance expectations. Support client responses by providing clear performance insight and optimisation rationale.

Team Build and Leadership

As the digital hub grows, support the recruitment, onboarding and development of additional digital specialists. Set standards for quality, ways of working and best practice. Act as a mentor and technical lead within paid search and paid social.

  • Develop a good understanding of client strategy and be able to assess and contribute on executional ideas

Planning & Buying skills
  • Hands on experience managing Google Ads and Meta campaigns
  • Deep understanding of paid search and paid social performance levers
  • Experience working with a range of objectives including acquisition, efficiency and growth
  • Able to identify, through research and analysis, insights that can feed client strategy
  • Demonstrate a full understanding of the media planning process
  • Setting and meeting budgeting targets of approved media plans
  • Ensure smooth implementation and delivery of the campaigns, alerting your line manager immediately of any under delivery or any other issues
  • Proficient in managing and optimising all media campaigns to deliver against targets
  • Deliver daily/weekly/monthly campaign reporting sheets to line manager showing insight with any potential trends or discrepancies
  • Provide interpretation of competition and other research data
  • Understand client objectives and campaign KPIs and how we measure against them
  • Ability to turn data into clear insight and recommendations
  • Participate and contribute in meetings and writing & presentation of client plans
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in media planning with a clear understanding of digital and non-digital channels
  • Knowledge of appropriate desktop research and planning tools i.e. Google Analytics etc
  • Demonstrated time management and multitasking skills
  • Solid collaborative and team-work oriented skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, developing presentation skills
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and mathematical competency a must
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload and able to prioritise
  • Strong appetite for learning and improving knowledge and skills
  • An appetite to explore automating workflows and implementing new technologies to improve efficiency and performance
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, start-up environment with a passion for innovation and growth.
