The Role: Design Room Coordinator (Structural Design Engineer) — This role acts as the crucial link between project sites, clients, architects, and the internal design office. You will be responsible for capturing requirements, translating them into clear briefs for the design team, and ensuring solutions are structurally sound, efficient, and compliant. Beyond technical coordination, you will help lead the integration of three design divisions into a single, future-focused unit, creating smoother processes and stronger collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Minimum 3-5 years of structural engineering or design coordination experience
  • Act as the liaison between clients, architects, engineers, and contractors regarding design requirements
  • Translate stakeholder input into precise and actionable briefs for the design team
  • Coordinate design changes and ensure proper documentation and timely updates
  • Attend site meetings to capture requirements, constraints, and technical considerations
  • Provide technical input on structural and design aspects, including sustainable and timber-based solutions
  • Oversee the consolidation of three design teams into one unified function by 2026
  • Monitor timelines to ensure design deliverables are accurate and on schedule
  • Conduct quality reviews to ensure compliance with codes, safety standards, and structural integrity
  • Support procurement, project management, and construction teams to ensure correct implementation of design intent
About You
  • Diploma or Degree in Structural Engineering (BEng / BSc / NDip)
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in structural engineering and/or design coordination
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, structural principles, and safety regulations
  • Proficiency with design and analysis tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, or similar
  • Previous exposure to client and architect-facing roles within construction projects
  • Advantageous: experience in timber structures, modular construction, or sustainable building methods
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface with diverse stakeholders
  • Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable with strong coordination abilities
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adjust designs to site-specific realities
  • Team player with leadership potential to help guide a consolidated design team in the future
