BRM is looking for a highly analytical and detail-driven Data Analyst with strong FMCG and retail experience to support the business through accurate reporting, commercial insights, and data-driven decision-making.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with large data sets, identifying trends, and translating numbers into clear, actionable insights that drive sales growth, improve forecasting, and support ranging, stock management, and promotional planning.
Key purpose of the role
To analyze retailer and internal sales data, produce meaningful reports, and deliver insights that enable informed commercial decisions, improved product performance, and sustainable sales growth across key retail accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Sales Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare weekly and monthly retail sales reports
- Analyze performance by SKU, category, store/region, and promotions
- Identify opportunities, risks, and trends across retailers
Retail Data Interpretation
- Work with retailer data using NOD (Nominated Order Date) and NDD (Nominated Delivery Date) principles
- Ensure data accuracy, correct time alignment, and retailer compliance
Stock & Sales Performance Analysis
- Monitor and analyze Stock on Hand (SOH), Rate of Sales (ROS), and weeks of cover
- Identify out-of-stock risks, slow-moving stock, and overstocks
- Support replenishment planning with data-driven recommendations
Ranging & Deranging Insights
- Analyze product performance to recommend ranging, deranging, and promotional priorities
- Track range compliance and distribution performance across retailers
Promotional Performance Tracking
- Measure promotional uplift, targets, ROI, and stock availability
- Analyze performance before, during, and after promotions
- Provide insights to improve future promotional planning and promotional mechanics
Sales Support & Commercial Insights
- Provide structured reporting for sales teams and customer meetings
- Highlight key insights including top performers, declining products, gaps vs targets, and growth opportunities
Data Administration & Reporting Integrity
- Maintain and improve reporting templates, trackers, and databases
- Ensure high levels of accuracy, consistency, and data integrity
Minimum Requirements
Experience
- 2–3 years’ experience in a Data Analyst / Sales Analyst / Retail Analyst role
- FMCG / Food industry experience preferred
- Strong understanding of retail reporting structures and performance metrics
- Experience working with major retailers and retail reporting systems is advantageous
Technical Skills
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to work with large data sets
- Experience with retail portals (Major retailers)
- Exposure to reporting tools and systems beneficial
