Key Responsibilities

Join Gen Re as a Compliance Specialist and help drive compliance across 20+ countries in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Reporting directly to the Compliance Manager of General Reinsurance AG, you will support key compliance initiatives from risk assessments, regulatory monitoring to policy development and training, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements across various business units and corporate functions.

  • Support the regular compliance risk assessment process;
  • Assist in execution and administration of the compliance plan;
  • Support the quarterly Legal/Compliance risk reporting process;
  • Counsel the BU/SU departments and teams concerned with compliance risks to work towards implementation of effective procedures to comply with relevant external requirements and internal standards;
  • Support the company’s compliance reporting;
  • Perform compliance procedure reviews (design effectiveness);
  • Maintain and further develop the compliance risk register;
  • Support the legal development monitoring procedures;
  • Review and update compliance related internal policies;
  • Support the operationalization of applicable regulatory requirements, including research, analysis and communication of relevant regulatory developments;
  • Maintain the international service provider inventory and administration of the related governance processes;
  • Maintain accurate records of the internal control activities of the Compliance Function;
  • Assist in developing and coordinating compliance training materials/programs;
  • Support the monitoring of relevant legal and regulatory developments;
  • Contribute to projects of the Compliance Function, as necessary.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Professional qualification and/or university degree with a major in one of the following areas: compliance, risk management, internal audit or business administration;
  • Ideally compliance-relevant working experience in (re)insurance or financial industry;
  • Fluent English language skills, ideally second language fluent;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Highly diligent and structured way of working;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
