Minimum Requirements
- BCOM Qualified CA (SA) or CIMA (non-negotiable)
- Experience working in a cross‑functional manufacturing business
- Minimum 5 years’ experience, including commercial costing, operational financial support and reporting
- SAP experience would be advantageous as would exposure to a FMCG and / or manufacturing environment
Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Contribution and Execution
- Participate in the formulation and implementation of the operating unit strategy, based on a 2 to 5 year view of requirements.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Co‑ordination of the annual 5‑year business valuations, annual and quarterly forecasting processes in accordance with the national timing and scheduling guidelines.
Monthly and Annual Operational Financial Reporting
- Coordinate the monthly operational finance close within the BU.
- Ensure efficient and reliable reporting systems are in place that will ensure accurate reporting from source data.
Management Reporting
- Reporting of key performance indicator dashboards on a daily / weekly / monthly basis.
Customer Pricing and Contract Management
- Calculate and provide accurate pricing information for price increases.
- Together with the National Sales Executive, review customer and principal pricing contracts and manage pricing increase and formula‑based adjustments.
Profitability Analysis
- Provide meaningful profitability information and recommend ways to optimise customer, channel and business profitability.
New Project Appraisal and Feasibility Assessment
- Drive the appraisal and feasibility assessment of all new projects and provide commercial insight and capacity to the Customer, Operations and Marketing functions.
Product Costing
- Develop a clear understanding of production costs and the key drivers thereof.
- Develop new product BOMs and costings in conjunction with R&D and Sales / Marketing together with a product I / S.
Profitability
- Drive enhanced customer and business profitability and performance information designed to unlock margin opportunities and influence improved contributions.
Commercial Insight and Technical Expertise
- Provide calculations, detailed analysis and associated recommendations emanating from all queries that arise as a result of changes in business operations.
Capital Investment
- Provide commercial input for all new investment opportunities.
Information and Data Management
- Ensure team members accurately and regularly capture data onto the information system to enable access to reliable data and reporting for trend analysis.
- Lead and develop staff within the context of the Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act and the Skills Development Act.
