Civil Construction Safety Manager

Location: this position is site-based

We are seeking a Safety Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and overseeing safety strategies across multiple projects or large sites, ensuring compliance with legal standards and organizational policies.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and enforce safety management systems (OHS Act compliant).
  • Conduct inspections, audits and incident investigations.
  • Mentor and supervise Safety Officers.
  • Integrate safety into project planning.
  • Track and report safety performance.
  • Deliver training and toolbox talks.
  • Identify and mitigate site hazards.
  • Ensure subcontractor and SMME compliance.

  • Expert in safety legislation, risk assessments and emergency planning.
  • Skilled in incident investigations, auditing and SHEQ management.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making and communication.

Minimum Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree or NQF Level 5 qualification in SHE Management or a related field.
  • SACPCMP registration as a Safety Manager is required.
  • 7-10 years of experience in site construction safety management, including leadership of safety teams.
