Overview

Our company is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the finance function, manage risk, and shape the company’s financial strategy. This is a hands-on, in-office role suited for a strong leader with a proven track record in the agriculture sector.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the accounts department
  • Implement and oversee financial strategies, plans, and procedures
  • Conduct risk assessments of liabilities and investments
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, governance, and statutory requirements
  • Prepare monthly management information and forecasts
  • Oversee cash flow, bank reconciliations, and foreign currency accounts
  • Manage relationships with partners, vendors, and auditors
  • Compile annual budgets and financial statements (IFRS for SMEs)
  • Submit statutory returns and manage compliance with SARS
  • Support leadership in strategic decision-making
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience, with at least 7 years at a senior level
  • Proven experience within the sector (non-negotiable)
  • Strong technical, compliance, and risk management expertise
  • Strategic thinker with excellent decision-making and leadership skills
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Xero or similar ERP systems advantageous
