The Role: CAD Draftsman Retail Shopfitting & Joinery Design

We're seeking a mid-to-senior level CAD Draftsman to deliver production-ready drawing packs for bespoke shopfitting projects. You'll play a key role in translating design concepts into technical drawings optimised for CNC cutting and manufacturing. Working closely with the UK-based design team, you'll ensure every project meets ETS standards and UK manufacturing specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Minimum 3 years of experience producing CAD drawings in a retail, shopfitting, or joinery design environment.
  • Create comprehensive Autodesk Inventor 2024 drawing packs using ETS templates.
  • Generate accurate AutoCAD 2024 DXFs for CNC routing, including clearly labelled materials, rebates, and cut paths.
  • Prepare IGES files for complex components, including joinery units and laser-cut tubes.
  • Produce flat patterns and laser-ready drawings for metal components with precise tolerancing.
  • Maintain full compliance with UK manufacturing and documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with the UK-based team to ensure all files are editable and accessible for final manufacturing and fit-out stages.

About You

  • 3-7 years of experience in CAD drafting for retail interiors, joinery, or shopfitting.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Inventor 2024 and Autodesk AutoCAD 2024.
  • Deep understanding of joinery construction, CNC cutting paths, and manufacturing processes for wood and metal.
  • Familiarity with UK shopfitting standards and technical documentation.
  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Architectural Technology, or related field.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a portfolio that demonstrates technical skill and experience in retail fixtures or shopfitting.
  • Strong communicator, comfortable working independently and collaboratively with remote teams.
