Responsibilities
- Support the Operational Excellence team to achieve the Business Units BBS commitments.
- Analyse Data to unlock cost saving opportunities.
- Help develop the relevant metrics, financial justification and valuation for BBS initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for replication of best practices.
- Deliver the required BBS concepts training to various teams, as required, within a Business Unit.
- Actively facilitate the drive for improvement in process metrics, targeted financial benefits and achieve company goals.
- Deliver ad hoc assigned projects.
- Highlight timeously any barriers to the delivery of BBS to the Business Unit Lead.
- Facilitate and support change management and the necessary guidance for the implementation of new / revised solutions.
- Engage with Excellence team and Business Unit leadership as required.
- Ensure BBS operates as per standard within the area of responsibility, including daily assistance with the management of the Process Control Boards at the Gemba.
- Support the required BBS cultural change.
- Assists event team leaders in preparation to close out A3.
- Assist with the preparation of the monthly Mission Control updates.
- Facilitate PSE and RIE through 9-week cycle and ensure A3 closure.
- Build reports for KPI monitoring.
- Coach first line managers on Lean tools.
Minimum Required Qualification
- Grade 12
- NQF 6 qualification
- Bronze certified / trained
- Valid Driver’s Licence
Advantageous
- Industrial / Mechanical engineering related qualification
- Project management, operations management related qualification
- Knowledge of Power BI or other Data analytic tools
Minimum Required Experience
- Clear understanding of requirements for behaviour and technical Coaching / Facilitation
- 3 years’ experience in similar role
- Knowledge and experience with Continuous Improvement Methodologies
- Proficient in data analysis and process mapping tools to highlight failure points
- Ability to quickly analyse and interpret performance data, identify trends, and establish root causes
- Strong business analysis skills, especially in the areas of process improvement and re-engineering
- Ability to set out, monitor and track benefits and outcomes
- Building a bottom-up culture of continuous improvement in the business
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities
- Participation and facilitate in Rapid Improvement Event (RIE’s)
- Demonstrated experience as a lean / continuous improvement (Lean, Theory of Constraints, TPM, Six Sigma) is advantageous
- Successful demonstration of medium-to-complex project management / implementation
- Advanced computer literacy skills (MS Office)
