We’re recruiting on behalf of a Cape Town-based client looking for a dynamic and results‑driven Business Developer to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a motivated professional with strong commercial insight and a passion for renewable energy to drive growth and build lasting business partnerships.

As a Business Developer, you’ll play a key role in identifying and securing new business opportunities, developing strategic relationships, and driving revenue growth within the solar power and manufacturing sectors. You’ll work closely with internal teams, clients, and industry stakeholders to deliver innovative energy solutions that align with the company’s long‑term objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue profitable new business opportunities within company guidelines
  • Conduct market research and provide valuable insights to the leadership team
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and industry partners
  • Develop pricing and marketing strategies to increase competitiveness
  • Support the development team with project tenders and preliminary designs
  • Contribute to a positive team culture through collaboration and knowledge sharing
Job Experience & Skills Required
  • BCom in Business Administration or Marketing (Postgraduate qualification in Marketing advantageous)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in business development, preferably within the solar power, manufacturing, or engineering industries
  • Proven ability to identify and close high‑value business opportunities
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and strategic planning skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and an understanding of contractual agreements
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with perseverance and a proactive approach
