Overview

Bookkeeping business located in Somerset West is seeking to appoint a Bookkeeper on a half-day basis in the mornings (three times a week).

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform bookkeeping up to trial balance.
  • Capture and process financial transactions accurately on accounting software, in line with firm standards.
  • Maintain and reconcile accounts, ledgers, and journals.
  • Reconcile bank statements and supplier/customer accounts.
  • Assist with VAT returns, PAYE, and other statutory submissions.
  • Support with financial reporting and ad-hoc tasks.
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of assigned work.
Requirements
  • Experienced bookkeeper to trial balance
  • Proficiency in Sage Partner (desktop) and Sage Accounting
  • Proficient in QuickBooks will be an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of Excel
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated and reliable, with a professional approach
  • Preferably residing in or near Somerset West
  • Must be prepared to work both at home (must have WiFi access and printer) and in office (a house)
  • Using your own laptop - preferred
