Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 40% pass rate in English, Mathematics, and Physical Science required.
• No experience required for applicants.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments and safe work declarations.
• Assist blaster in preparing charge-up area according to standards.
• Inspect site to determine target block and plan blasting.
• Mark off working area and erect prescribed barricades.
• Map holes ensuring correct placement.
• Measure depth of holes to ensure compliance.
• Rectify deviations by communicating with mine staff.
• Collect accessories needed for blasting as instructed.
• Place detonators and boosters for priming holes.
• Carefully insert detonators and attach weigh-down material under supervision.
