Job summary

A leading automotive service provider in Gauteng is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Advisor to be the face of customer excellence in a high-end workshop. You will manage service bookings, communicate with customers and technicians, and ensure high-quality service delivery. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years' experience, strong customer service skills, and knowledge of automotive systems. Competitive salary of R 15 000 – R 18 000 PM plus bonus. Automotive Service Advisor – Gauteng, Fourways

Our client is on the hunt for a polished, people‑centric Service Advisor who thrives in a fast‑paced workshop, communicates like a pro, and knows how to keep both technicians and customers running smoothly.

In this role, you will be the go‑to contact for customers, managing service bookings, walking clients through their vehicle needs, liaising with technicians, and delivering an exceptional service journey from booking to collection. Remuneration

R 15 000 – R 18 000 PM CTC depending on experience plus performance‑based Incentive & discretionary bonus – Standard Benefit includes MIBCO Provident Fund

Duties include
  • Be the first point of contact – greet customers professionally and identify service needs
  • Clearly explain vehicle issues and service requirements in simple, customer‑friendly language
  • Provide accurate service estimates and obtain approvals
  • Maintain consistent communication regarding vehicle progress, additional work, timelines, and costs
  • Conduct post‑service follow‑ups to ensure satisfaction and address concerns
  • Manage service appointments to optimise workshop efficiency
  • Work closely with technicians to ensure timely and quality repairs
  • Confirm parts availability prior to job start to avoid delays
  • Assist in prioritising workloads and scheduling urgent or breakdown jobs
  • Open and manage service orders, job cards, invoicing, and payment processing
  • Maintain accurate customer records, warranty details, and service history
  • Ensure full documentation for every job, including approvals and technician notes
  • Conduct quality checks and ensure work meets brand standards
  • Drive outstanding customer experience and loyalty
  • Handle complaints professionally and escalate if required
  • Stay updated on services, specials, and vehicle systems
  • Promote recommended maintenance and value‑add services
  • Collaborate closely with workshop and parts teams
  • Assist with daily/weekly reporting on service performance and customer satisfaction
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years’ Service Advisor experience in an Automotive environment
  • Computer Literate (MS Office Suite)
  • Excellent Customer Service
  • Completed Certificated Service Advisor training – Advantageous
  • Previous experience as an automotive technician – Advantageous
  • CRM knowledge
  • Kerridge, Evolve, Drive System knowledge AutoManage (Either)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other technicians and engineers
  • Strong knowledge of warranty policies and an eye for upselling opportunities
  • Own transport with valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Clear Criminal record
