Qualifications

  • Calculate tax-efficient structure for clients.
  • Manage client portfolios and identify cross-selling opportunities.
  • Allocate work to trainees and provide feedback.

Description

A medium-sized audit and accounting firm based in Stellenbosch is offering an exciting opportunity for an Audit Senior to join their team.

The position is primarily responsible for the overall management of audits performed, management and mentoring of trainee accountants and providing assistance to Directors.

The ideal candidate will have completed their SAICA articles and CTA/BAcc (Hons). One year of post-article experience in an audit firm is an added advantage.

In addition, the candidate will have excellent technical knowledge of audit standards, the Companies Act, VAT Act, Income Tax Act and IFRS for SMEs. Experience of auditing and reviewing small to medium-sized companies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan and manage audits: prepare audit budget, oversee auditing work, manage the work-in-progress to align with the budget, and finalise audits.
  • Draft financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting framework.
  • Calculate tax efficient structure for clients, as well as provisional and annual taxes.
  • Manage various client portfolios and identify opportunities for cross-selling of other services.
  • Team management: allocate work to accounting trainees, provide on-the-job training, review trainee accountants work and provide feedback.
  • Maintain own productivity to the expected standard.
