Location: South Africa (Fully Remote)

Contract Type: Full-time

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly capable Audit & Accounts Senior, fully qualified CA(SA), to join our team in a 100% remote capacity. This role suits a self-driven professional with strong technical expertise who can manage audit engagements and accounts preparation independently while collaborating effectively with a distributed team.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality audit and financial reporting work for a diverse client portfolio, while maintaining excellent communication and service standards in a remote working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Audit

• Lead audit engagements from planning through to completion in a remote setting
• Prepare and review audit working papers in line with ISA requirements
• Identify audit risks and design appropriate audit procedures
• Review work prepared by junior team members and provide remote coaching and feedback
• Draft audit findings, management letters, and audit reports
• Liaise with clients via video calls, email, and shared platforms to resolve queries

Accounts & Reporting

• Prepare and review statutory financial statements (FRS102)
• Ensure compliance with Companies Act and relevant accounting standards
• Review trial balances, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Assist with consolidations where required
• Support year-end and periodic reporting deadlines

Client & Team Interaction

• Act as a primary client contact on engagements
• Manage deadlines, budgets, and deliverables independently
• Support and mentor junior team members remotely
• Contribute to continuous improvement of remote audit and reporting processes
• Assist managers and partners with ad-hoc technical and advisory work

Key Requirements

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) – CA(SA) (essential)
• Completed SAICA articles
• Strong audit and financial reporting technical knowledge
• Proven experience in audit and accounts preparation
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple engagements remotely
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and professional judgement
• Experience with CCH, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar systems (advantageous)
