Job summary

A leading engineering business is seeking an Attendant Knock Out in Port Elizabeth. In this role, you will operate machinery to shake out castings and reclaim sand, ensuring safety protocols are followed. The ideal candidate has a Matric certificate, a valid crane license, and experiences in crane operation. You will contribute to achieving production targets and ensure quality control. Key Responsibilities:

• Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture. Operate machines / equipment in accordance with safe work instructions. Adhere to required protective clothing rules and ensure appropriate PPE is worn at all times.
• Adherence to safety: Operate machines / equipment as per safe work instructions which includes TPM checklists. Identify any potential hazards and risks and report unsafe conditions to Foreman.
• Production: Collect cast mould boxes from the cooling bay, break open cast mould boxes and smoothly knock out sand on the vibrating table. Ensure castings are not shaken directly on the table screen.
• Production: Achieve laid down production targets. Always work according to efficiency standards and adhere to quality control as per work instructions.
• Inspection: Inspect and ensure castings don’t have any breakages or damages and is correct as per work instruction requirements. Report non‑conformance's and communicate suggestions for improvement to the Foreman.
• Transportation: Remove clean castings from the shakeout and transport to the demarcated shot blast area. Recycle/Store moulding boxes as required. Attend compulsory safe start / green are meetings at the beginning of every shift.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12).
• Valid crane license.
• 12 to 24 months experience in crane operation and handling of parts.
• Ability to read and interpret documents.
