Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of a Winning Business Individual in an Audit and Assurance environment is to secure new business opportunities and clients for the firm. This involves actively identifying and pursuing potential clients, understanding their needs, and presenting the firm\'s Audit and Assurance services in a compelling manner. The role includes building and maintaining client relationships, staying informed about industry trends, and effectively communicating the value proposition of the firm\'s services to prospective clients. The goal is to contribute to the growth and success of the firm by expanding its client base and revenue in the Audit and Assurance sector.
The individual will work within the Audit & Assurance Growth team. Responsibilities include driving business development and securing clients. The role includes several activities summarized below.
Responsibilities
- Client Acquisition: Actively identify and pursue potential clients, understanding their needs and aligning them with the firm\'s Assurance services.
- Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes to identify new business opportunities.
- Proposal Development: Collaborate with the firm\'s teams to create proposals and presentations that showcase capabilities in Assurance services.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, becoming a trusted advisor and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for business development aligned with the firm\'s goals.
- Cross-selling: Identify opportunities to cross-sell services within the firm to existing clients.
- Client Retention: Work with client service teams to ensure high-quality delivery of Audit services and address client concerns promptly.
- Pipeline Management: Engage in pipeline budgeting and financial forecasting related to business development activities.
- Compliance and Ethics: Adhere to ethical standards and compliance requirements in business development activities.
- Performance Metrics: Track and report on key performance indicators related to business development.
- Business Development: Develop the Service Line through relationship building, brand awareness and market research to identify new opportunities.
Strategic Impact
- Set strategy for Audit & Assurance opportunities and proposals.
- Consult and facilitate through growth stages to help teams identify opportunities and positioning.
- Lead discussions and craft compelling messages; provide project management and guidance on initiatives.
- Help position key messaging for Audit & Assurance and facilitate collaboration to create innovative outputs.
- Produce pursuit materials that align with client expectations and ensure timely delivery.
- Engage with pursuit partners to explore new services and methods to meet client needs.
- Share client feedback where possible to improve service delivery.
Client Impact: External / Internal
- Provide guidance on client interactions and outputs.
- Oversee quality of deliverables with Audit & Assurance on national and/or regional bases as appropriate.
- Provide expert input on strategic issues related to areas of expertise.
Operational Effectiveness
- Monitor delivery by teams against client expectations.
- Create up-to-date reports for leadership and keep leadership informed on project status.
- Support risk management and ensure timely issue resolution.
- Demonstrate Deloitte values through service to internal clients and ongoing leadership collaboration.
- Oversee change initiatives and ensure quality and timeliness of delivery.
Development / Growth of Team
- Identify, mentor and develop Service Area team members.
- Coach and guide managers; develop relationships to support business in the area of expertise.
- Empower managers through delegation and recognition.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and equivalent experience required
- Post Graduate qualification OR Advanced Degree preferred
Minimum Experience
- 10 years of relevant experience in pursuits, business-to-business communications and/or strategic marketing communications
- Proven record in relationship management, account management, marketing and sales within a professional services organization
- Experience coaching and challenging senior teams with track record of influencing bid outcomes
- Strategic, commercial thinker with strong people management skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience setting pursuit strategy and guiding teams in account pursuit
- Ability to build and maintain market position and meet growth targets
- Ability to interpret and implement strategy; strong coaching and leadership abilities
- Ability to drive continuous improvement and innovation
Desired Experience
- 10 years of relevant working experience in a similar role
- 7 years in a senior management / leadership role
- Business development / market making experience is essential
- Prior experience in the Audit or Assurance space is advantageous
