Responsibilities

As an Assistant Accountant you will be responsible for the following:

  • Manage the administration and maintenance of investment and project systems.
  • Execute settlements and assist with month-end closing processes.
  • Prepare and process journals, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and oversee inventory management and reporting.
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including VAT reconciliations.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements, statutory returns, and audit schedules.
  • Provide financial analysis with commentary to support monthly reporting.
  • Support other assistant accountants and handle ad-hoc financial tasks as needed.
Qualifications

Job Experience and Skills Required :

BCom Accounting (preferred) or National Diploma in Accounting / related qualification.

Minimum of 3 years in a similar role.

Strong understanding of accounting principles, Income Tax, and VAT legislation.

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); SAP experience advantageous.
