Job description

Hexagon Autonomous Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Services Team Lead I, Safety to play a key role in leading and coordinating service and support activities for advanced mining safety solutions, including CAS, VIS, and OAS systems. This role ensures efficient deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of safety technologies while upholding compliance and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include acting as an escalation point for technical issues, mentoring and training engineers and technicians, and collaborating with project managers to deliver solutions on time and within budget. The position demands strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction, ensuring high-quality service delivery and continuous improvement.

Role Purpose

The Area Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing service and support operations across designated sites within the EMEA region. This role ensures compliance with Hexagon standards, manages on-site activities, and drives operational excellence through effective coordination, technical support, and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Operations Management:

    • Supervise day-to-day activities at assigned sites, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and safety standards.
    • Coordinate installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Hexagon technologies (OAS, CAS, VIS, Machine Control systems, OPPRO).
  • Client Engagement & Escalation Handling:

    • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing escalations promptly and maintaining strong relationships.
    • Ensure service delivery aligns with KPIs and contractual scope.
  • Technical Support & Issue Resolution:

    • Provide hands‑on technical assistance for hardware and software systems, including diagnostics and repairs.
    • Support RMA collections, demos, and site surveys where required.
  • Compliance & Standardisation:

    • Implement and enforce standard operating procedures across regions to maintain consistency.
    • Ensure compliance with DMRE and other regulatory requirements for safety‑critical systems.
  • Reporting & Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate records of site activities, maintenance schedules, and performance metrics.
    • Prepare reports for senior management on operational status and improvement areas.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Technical Expertise:

    • Strong knowledge of Hexagon Mining technologies (Safety, Production).
    • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing electronic and microprocessor‑based systems.
  • Leadership & Communication:

    • Ability to lead site teams, manage conflicts, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
    • Proven track record of managing multiple sites and prioritising tasks under pressure.
  • Compliance & Safety:

    • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and safety standards in mining environments.
  • Education & Experience:

    • Trade Test, Diploma, Degree in Engineering, Mining Technology, IT or related field.
    • Minimum 3–5 years in a supervisory or technical support role within mining or industrial environments.

Travel
  • Travel (local, national and international) will be a requirement of this role to deliver services to clients at client sites.
