Clinical Application Support Specialist (Oncology)
A vacancy exists for a Clinical Application Support Specialist (Oncology) based at Head Office in Oxford Parks, reporting to the IM Head of Technology Services.
This is a hands-on operational position responsible for supporting all Oncology systems and applications, serving as the custodial "owner" and subject-matter expert for the Oncology applications / systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day use, performance, and maintenance of the Oncology applications / systems.
- Involvement in all projects related to Oncology systems.
- Troubleshoot network and server hardware issues.
- Configure personal computers and mobile devices.
- Manage systems and software applications.
- Resolve telecommunication and network communication issues (including Wi Fi).
- Ensure data Security, Privacy, and Governance procedures are up to date.
- Provide project support for new practices regarding IT infrastructure.
- Provide subject-matter expertise regarding the Oncology systems to all role players.
- Monitor and assess system functionalities and performance.
- Manage Service level delivery according to agreed SLAs.
- Investigate incidents and assist with problem resolution.
- Ensure required maintenance requests are logged and implemented.
- Know the systems landscape and ensure monitoring and optimization.
- Document interdependencies between systems and optimize for business stability.
- Manage 3rd Party escalation.
- Coordinate and Drive Small Enhancements : Identify shortcomings and make recommendations for changes / improvements.
- Follow change governance processes for required changes.
- Review deployment plans and provide sign-off.
- Support change projects regarding improvements to systems.
- Involvement in Project Delivery : Manage business expectations and engage stakeholders.
- Support Liaison Between IT and the Oncology Business : Communicate with the Oncology business unit as per the engagement model.
- Provide reports on system performance and issues.
- Implement relevant policies and procedures related to IT delivery.
- Drive solutions for severity 1 and 2 issues and conduct root cause analysis.
- Engage with vendors to enhance daily operations.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- 2-3 years' direct experience in managing IT systems.
- 3-5 years related work experience.
- 2-3 years' experience in analyzing and defining business requirements.
- Operational experience in a corporate channel environment.
- Experience in a healthcare services environment.
- ITIL Foundation Certified.
- IT-related qualification is advantageous.
- Knowledge of in-house systems is advantageous.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of operating systems (Microsoft Windows).
- Sound knowledge of Information Security controls.
- Deep knowledge of Oncology IT systems and procedures.
- Good understanding of IT systems development lifecycle principles.
- Good analytical and business-analysis skills.
- Team orientation and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of project-management disciplines.
- General business acumen and commercial awareness.
