AI Analyst – Legal Operations Support

Remote, United States – Part-Time Contract

We are seeking a highly analytical and innovative AI Analyst to support our Legal Operations team in developing and maintaining AI-driven tools, including internal AI assistants. This role will focus on connecting AI systems to internal data sources, optimizing data pipelines, and supporting legal professionals in using AI for research, workflows, and decision-making. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data analysis, experience working with AI/ML tools, and the ability to translate legal team needs into effective AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities
AI Assistant Development & Optimization
  • Support the creation, configuration, and continuous improvement of internal AI assistants tailored to legal workflows.
  • Collaborate with Legal Operations, IT, and SMEs to define use cases and requirements.
  • Ensure AI assistants are aligned with legal processes, terminology, and compliance needs.
Data Integration & Management
  • Connect AI tools to internal systems and datasets (e.g., knowledge repositories, contract databases, policy libraries).
  • Work with IT and data teams to ensure secure, accurate, and governed data access.
  • Develop and maintain data pipelines to support reliable AI outputs.
Query Support & User Enablement
  • Serve as a point of contact for legal professionals seeking support with AI tools.
  • Troubleshoot user questions and improve AI responses based on user feedback.
  • Encourage adoption through training sessions, office hours, and guidance materials.
Analysis & Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor AI performance, including accuracy, relevance, and usage metrics.
  • Identify patterns, gaps, and opportunities to enhance the value of AI tools.
  • Propose and implement updates to improve outputs, workflows, and user experience.
Documentation & Governance
  • Document system configurations, data flows, and AI use case requirements.
  • Support compliance, privacy, and security protocols related to AI data usage.
  • Develop best practices and guidelines for ethical, safe AI use in Legal Operations.
Qualifications
  • 2–4+ years of experience in data analysis, AI operations, or a related technical role.
  • Experience with AI platforms (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Google Vertex, or similar).
  • Strong data skills: SQL, data modeling, APIs, or integration workflows.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance for non-technical users.
  • Experience working with legal teams or contract data is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Contract Details
  • Full-time: Approximately 20 hours per week.
  • Contract length: 12 months minimum with potential for renewal.
  • Work setup: Remote; must be authorized to work in the U.S.
