Job description

A vacancy exists for an Admission Clerk in our Patient Services, based at Life The Glynnwood Hospital, reporting to Sandy Cross, Admission Supervisor.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately record all patient admissions to the hospital.
  • Carry out accurate admission and receptionist duties for the hospital.
  • Perform general administration duties involved in the admission of patients, including filing and assisting with billing of accounts.
  • Admit patients onto IMEDS.
  • Operate the switchboard.
  • Handling money.
  • Liaise with medical aids to obtain authorization for admission.
Qualifications
  • Grade 12 National Senior Certificate.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Previous experience working with IT – IMEDS knowledge will be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (pre-requisite).
  • Experience in dealing with customers.
  • Knowledge of hospital procedures and medical terminology will be advantageous.
  • Teamwork essential.
  • Must be able to flex between day and night shift.
  • Competency: Team player, excellent verbal skills.
