A governmental department in South Africa is looking for an individual to provide professional administrative support services to the Head of Department (HOD). The role requires a minimum of 1 year experience in a 'C-Class' environment and a 3-year National Diploma or higher qualification. The salary for this position ranges from R 325 101 to R 382 959 per annum. Candidates must have competencies in record management and communication skills.
The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to provide professional administrative support services to the Superintendent-General/Head of Department (HOD) and to provide office suport to the HOD as per instruction fromthe Deputy Director (DD).
An appropriate 3-year National Diploma (or higher qualification); A minimum of 1 year experience in a “C-Class” environment (that is with Senior Management Service).

Rendering professional administrative support services to the office of the HOD; Supports the managerthe manager with the registry services; Provide support to the manager regarding meetings and act as a secretariat as required; Analyse the relevant legislation and policies/prescripts to ensure compliance within the and by the HOD and the office; Be the face of the Head of Department.
Knowledge of the following: Relevant legislation, policies, prescripts and procedures; Basic financial administration; Procurement of goods and services.
Skills needed: Ability to run and maintain a record management system; Do research and analyse documents and situations; Numeracy; Literacy; Computer literacy; Written and verbal communication skills.
R 325 101 - R 382 959 per annum (Salary level 7)
Note on remuneration in addition service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting. All shortlisted candidates, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise to determine a candidate’s suitability based on the post’s technical and generic requirements and the other must be an integrity (ethical conduct) assessment. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
