Job summary

A well-established manufacturing business is seeking an Accountant to manage stock and inventory, perform costing analysis, and ensure financial reporting accuracy. Ideal candidates should have a BCom Accounting degree and 3–5 years of experience in a similar role, particularly in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems is essential. This role offers a dynamic work environment focused on operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Experience in inventory reconciliations and costing.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage stock levels across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Prepare product costing and analyze variances.

Overview

Description/Synopsis: Our client, a well-established manufacturing business, is seeking an Accountant with strong expertise in stock and inventory management. The role focuses on accurate costing, variance analysis, and ensuring reliable financial reporting while supporting efficient factory and warehouse operations. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to add value in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Minimum Requirements
  • BCom Accounting degree (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in stock control, inventory reconciliations, and cost accounting
  • Advanced Excel and ERP system knowledge (Syspro experience an advantage)
  • Knowledge of financial reporting and compliance requirements
Main Responsibilities
  • Manage stock levels across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
  • Perform regular stock reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare product costing and analyze variances between actual and standard costs
  • Produce stock-related management reports, including obsolescence and efficiency tracking
  • Support annual budgets and monthly reporting cycles
  • Liaise with procurement, production, and sales teams to ensure accurate stock data and reporting
  • Enhance inventory control processes and drive cost-saving initiatives
  • Assist with audits, compliance checks, and financial reviews
