Job summary

A leading DMC in tourism is looking for an Account Manager based in Cape Town or Johannesburg. This full-time remote/hybrid role involves managing relationships with prestigious clients and requires extensive travel. The ideal candidate will have a degree, strong communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office. Responsibilities include designing client programmes, maintaining contact and relationships, and coordinating travel arrangements. Salary is R30 – R40k per month, negotiable based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to travel extensively, spending significant time away from home.

Account Manager (Tourism/Travel)

Location: Must be Cape Town or Johannesburg based

Employment: Full Time

Salary: R30 – R40k per month, negotiable based on experience.

Our client, a leading DMC focused on inbound tourism in Southern and East Africa, is looking for an Account Manager. The role centers on managing and travelling with the largest and most prestigious clients from around the globe. Travel to Australia and associated expenses are covered by the hiring company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design programmes for existing and new clients.
  • Maintain constant contact with clients and agencies.
  • Ensure positive and ongoing relationships with clients and agencies.
  • Brainstorm ideas based on given briefs and budgets.
  • Complete cost analyses, grids, detailed proposals, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Travel on-site for inspections or programmes (average 1–2 weeks per 4 weeks during season).
  • Compile and book all services based on itineraries.
  • Source relevant information for room gifts, amendments, re‑costs and additions.
  • Assist with on‑site coordination while travelling with groups.
  • Draw up contracts between the company and client.
  • Maintain and increase gross profits on programmes.
  • Attend all weekly and status meetings.
Qualifications & Experience
  • University Degree or Higher Diploma.
  • Full driver’s licence.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of working experience (any industry, travel/tourism is an advantage).
  • Willingness to travel extensively, spending a significant amount of time away from home.
  • Energetic, driven and ready for an exciting opportunity.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word).
