Brunswick Group is seeking an Account Director with experience in corporate reputation, financial communication and crisis advisory to join the team in Johannesburg.

About the Role
  • Brunswick Account Directors are responsible for delivering media, political, regulatory and market analysis to clients, with intelligent insight and recommendations informed by data, analysis and experience.
  • A deep understanding of clients’ businesses and the sectors in which they operate is critical. The production of high calibre documents is a core element of the Account Director role, along with seamless project management of client workstreams. The Account Director ensures all logistics for client meetings and events are executed smoothly and manages upwards to ensure Brunswick delivers on time and above expectation. Account Directors nurture a network amongst peers inside and outside the firm, providing valuable insight for the firm and for clients.
What We're Looking For
  • Highly knowledgeable on business issues and current affairs; up to date on key trends, issues, commentators and debates, particularly as it relates to consumer-facing organisations.
  • 3+ years’ relevant experience on the development of corporate affairs programmes or campaigns, demonstrating familiarity with the relevant financial and regulatory considerations or procedures.
  • Familiarity with the impact of political or macroeconomic change on businesses, and a clear view of how to engage with all relevant stakeholders accordingly.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent written research and analysis for business audiences; must be able to synthesize large amounts of intelligence across numerous sources in a timely but thoughtful manner.
  • Proven project and/or programme management experience, with the ability to oversee multiple fast-moving workstreams at any one time.
  • Candidates will have ideally worked as an advisor in these respects, internally or externally, to senior management.
  • A dynamic self-starter with a strong work ethic.
  • High level of attention to detail and an intellectually rigorous, client-service attitude.
  • An experienced team‑worker and will prefer to work in a collegiate way.
  • A sense of fun.
