Responsibilities
Oversee daily vessel operations as shipowner or bareboat charterer.
Ensure safe operations and compliance with industry regulations and company procedures.
Maintain charter party compliance and coordinate with brokers, charterers, agents, and ship managers.
Monitor voyage performance, including delays and off-hire periods.
Manage insurance coverage, claims handling, and loss prevention.
Negotiate and resolve claims promptly and effectively.
Support chartering team with vessel data, certifications, and scheduling.
Review port loading/discharging plans and ensure compliance with requirements.
Handle invoicing, charter hire payments, and final settlements.
Address disputes with charterers in coordination with defence clubs.
Review ship managers’ reports and brief senior officers/engineers.
Coordinate drydocking arrangements considering cost, duration, and deviation.
Optimise resources and propose workflow improvements.
Represent the company at meetings, seminars, and conferences.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of experience in bulk carrier operations, preferably from a shipowner’s perspective.
Strong knowledge of charter party agreements and ship management contracts.
Ability to remain on standby for urgent matters 24/7.
Knowledge of insurance processes and claims handling is an advantage.
