What does the job consist?
The role involves contributing to Soitec’s production capacity and product costing strategies through effective materials (chemical & gases) planning, budget control, and new materials qualification plans. You will support fab engineering investigations and life safety system implementations & maintenance.
- Maintain Materials Requirement forecast model with IE, considering production loading forecasts, past materials usage, and lead times.
- Analyze monthly materials consumption trends to ensure supply continuity with minimal excess.
- Drive qualification of new and second-source materials for agility.
- Assess the impact of new tool types requirements.
- Maintain cost models based on chemical and gas usage.
- Set up and maintain Life Safety System (LSS).
- Serve as backup for the TGC operations engineer.
- Build technical knowledge of how chemical and gas parameters influence FAB processes.
- Support fab process investigations related to chemical or gas influence.
- Drive qualification of new and second-source materials for cost optimization.
- Manage new material qualification and PCN issuance from suppliers.
- Explore opportunities to prevent chemical & gas issues that could interrupt production.
- Undertake additional assignments/projects beyond routine tasks.
Requirements & qualifications
Educational Qualifications:
B.Eng Degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience. Candidates with backgrounds in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry are preferred.
Relevant Experience:
- Experience as Process/Modules Engineer in a semiconductor plant.
- Experience as Facilities Engineer for semiconductor process chemicals & gases.
- Experience as Supplier Quality Engineer for chemicals and/or gases is also considered.
Technical / Job Knowledge:
- Familiarity with semiconductor front-end process materials (chemicals and gases).
- Ability to generate relevant material requirement forecast reports related to production loading forecasts.
- Knowledge of basic factory cost structures, capex processes, and cost reduction methodologies.
- Experience in product qualification of new materials.
- Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

- Strong aptitude for mathematics and calculations; good number sense.
- Logical, systematic, with good attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills; able to work independently and as part of a team, participate, and lead cross-functional projects.
