Research Assistant (Pathogen genomics)
The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is recruiting a full-time Research Assistant (or Associate) to undertake pathogen genomic analysis. The selected candidate will analyse whole-genome sequence data from the parasitic liver fluke Opisthorchis viverrini; a significant neglected tropical disease (NTD) within Southeast Asia. There is also the opportunity to contribute to parasitological fieldwork or primary data collection in Thailand or Lao PDR. The role is offered for 12 months in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research, collaborate with experts, and work on other infectious disease analyses. It would be an excellent role for an enthusiastic candidate looking to develop their skills in bioinformatics and evolutionary genomics, with an interest in parasitology, NTDs, and global health. It could also serve as a valuable foundation for candidates planning to apply for PhD programmes in the future.
