The Data & Research department at the National Arts Council (NAC) is at the forefront of building Singapore's arts and culture research and data ecosystem. We commission cutting-edge research, implement robust data practices, and harness analytics to shape national arts and culture policy and programme development. Through strategic collaborations with government agencies, academic institutions, cultural organisations, and arts practitioners, we strengthen the sector's research capabilities and drive evidence-based decision-making that supports the growth of Singapore's vibrant arts landscape. Identify visual arts and literary arts activities through comprehensive review of newspapers, media publications and online platforms
Maintain and update comprehensive databases of performing arts, visual arts and literary arts venues across Singapore using information gathered from multiple sources
Conduct detailed research on arts and cultural organisations through online investigation and direct telephone enquiries to obtain complete organisational profiles and contact details
Input, verify, and maintain data integrity within NAC’s arts statistics database, systems, ensuring all information is accurate and properly categorised
Review, update, and systematically organise historical cultural statistics databases to ensure accuracy and accessibility for future reference
Entry level applicants are welcomed if they demonstrate key competencies in areas highlighted in job scope
Previous experience in data entry, information collation, and database updating preferred
Strong telephone communication and interpersonal skills for conducting research enquiries with arts organisations and cultural institutions
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including formula calculations, data sorting, and search functions to analyse and organise statistical information effectively
Proficiency in Microsoft Word for document editing, formatting, and transferring information between sources accurately
Full-time commitment of five working days per week throughout the contract duration, with flexibility subject to prior agreement
