We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as an Application Infrastructure System Engineer. This role will involve assisting the application infrastructure architect on developing, designing, deploying and maintaining the application and infrastructure to support MPA systems, including Messaging Streaming system and other mission critical systems running in both GCC (Government on Commercial Cloud) and on-premises.

The ideal officer should be able to identify optimal cloud solutions for MPA and maintain cloud infrastructures in accordance with best practices and Government agency security policies. You should have practical knowledge and experience of public cloud services and excellent troubleshooting skills. You will work with different IT professionals and teams to ensure the hybrid cloud infrastructure meet the needs of applications and customers.

The ideal officer will also have practical knowledge and experience of event-driven architecture and event-driven integrations with various applications and systems. You will work with different application teams to assist them on the design, develop and integrate event-driven applications. You must be passionate about technology, embrace changes and keen to explore new ways to automate existing processes. You must be a good communicator being comfortable to communicate effectively to all levels and types of employees as well as external partners/contractors.

A brief summary of your job responsibilities:

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining the hybrid cloud infrastructure, such as virtual machines, storage, load balancer, firewall and network virtual appliance components. Integrating cloud-based systems with on-premises systems and ensuring seamless data transfer between the two environments.
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining the Event-Driven messaging infrastructure. Providing technical guidance and governance on application integration and security compliance.
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining Kubernetes infrastructure with service mesh. Automate the maintenance and application deployment in Kubernetes cluster.
• Identify, analyse, and resolve infrastructure vulnerabilities on regular basis.
• Regularly review existing systems and make recommendations for improvements.
• Provide technical guidance and support for various common infrastructure services: Active Directory, DNS, WSUS, IAM, SiteMinder, MSSQL server, SFTP server, Proxy server, RDS, etc.
• Perform regular maintenance on server patching, software update, backup and restore, DR exercise, audit review and account management.
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining the systems comply to IM8 and CSA, security standards, and internal policies, taking appropriate measures to mitigate risks and ensure data protection.
• Automation of resources provisioning and deprovisioning with template and scripting languages.

To excel in this role, you will ideally have:

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with Microsoft Windows Server and/or RedHat Linux Server infrastructure.
• Minimum of 2 years of working experience in the field of cloud computing.
• Experience in designing, developing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure and applications
• Technical skill of Powershell, Python and bash scripting and automation
• Experience with IAM solution and modern authentication mechanism: OAuth2/OIDC and SAML
• Willing to embrace changes and new technologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Practical experiences in managing system integrators / contractors / partners
• Azure, AWS, and GCP certifications are preferred.
• Microsoft or RHEL certified is a plus.
• Experience in Solace is a plus.
• Experience in supporting CII (Critical Information Infrastructure) systems is a plus.
• Familiar with IM8 is a plus.
