Compliance jobs in Singapore

We are looking for a Tax Accountant - 12 Months Contract to join our Regional Tax Team in Singapore. The role mainly covers corporate income tax, VAT/GST (or similar tax), withholding tax and other applicable taxes arising from the Group operation in Far East region. Countries covered including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea.

Tax Compliance

• Review of tax computation and tax returns for direct and indirect taxes in Far East region. This covers mainly corporate income tax, withholding tax and VAT/GST.
• Prepare and review response on tax audits, queries and/or investigations from the tax authorities in various locations.
• Monitor and follow up on tax liabilities/refund positions of companies.
• Provide guidance/advice on various tax compliance matters.

Tax Accounting And Budgeting/Forecast

• Review the quarterly Tax Webform and FIN 48/FAS 5 reporting (US GAAP reporting).
• Support the statutory audit on true-up calculation, tax adjustments and deferred tax analysis.
• Manage external audits on tax related queries.

Tax Advisory & Planning

• Maintain proper supporting documentation to support compliance and audit requirements, e.g. Transfer Pricing Reports, Intercompany Agreements, etc.
• Provide advice and attend to queries from various stakeholders on taxes and corporate matters.
• Other ad-hoc matters, as required.

Requirements

• Degree holder / Professional certification, Charactered Tax Professional or equivalent
• At least 3 – 4 years of relevant work experience with Big 4 Firm and /or MNCs in the area of Corporate Income Tax, GST/VAT and WHT
• Strong knowledge of regional tax compliance and reporting requirements
• Ability to work independently, and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail, highly organised, exceptional attitude, high degree of professionalism and discretion
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
