Job summary
A recruitment agency in Singapore is seeking a candidate to assist medical staff by performing venepuncture service for blood specimen collection. Responsibilities include sorting and labeling specimens and ensuring correct dispatch to the laboratory. The ideal candidate should possess at least an N'/'O' level, with a preference for phlebotomist certification and strong customer service and communication skills. This is an entry-level position suitable for those looking to start a career in healthcare.
Qualifications
- Entry level depends on qualifications and experience.
- Phlebotomist certified by recognized Institutions is preferred.
- Customer service orientation with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform venepuncture for blood specimen collection.
- Sort and record blood specimens and ensure proper labeling and dispatch.
- Gather feedback for workflow improvement.
Skills
Education
The candidate will provide assistance to the Medical Staff by performing venepuncture service for the collection of blood specimens for Laboratory investigations for patients.
- Performs venepuncture for the collection of blood specimens for dispatch to the laboratory in accordance with the standards set.
- Sorts and records all blood specimens collected, and ensures that they are correctly labelled and dispatched to the Laboratory in the correct mode.
- Practises Universal Precautions throughout the procedure.
- Gathers feedback from Clinicians, Staff and Patients on matters concerning workflow improvement.
- Entry level depends on qualifications and experience, either ‘N’/’O’ level, NITEC or Higher NITEC.
- Phlebotomist certified by recognized Institutions is preferred.
- Customer service oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and as a team.
