Overview
This job is under the department of Technical Support Services (TSD). The department TSD provides day-to-day “facility” engineering support for plant operation as well as high-level technical support to chronic facility failure issues related to Mechanical, Instrument, DCS & SIS. TSD is the custodian of PRC Engineering standards, documents, and recommendation tracking.
In general, the System Engineer position supports the Plant Information Systems or Manufacturing Execution Systems to ensure system availability and functionality to the users as per the procedure and to provide technical support.
Duties & Responsibilities
- TECHNICAL SUPPORT. Supporting, maintaining, installing, testing, monitoring, upgrading, expanding, modifying and solving malfunctions & problems of the Plant Information Systems or Manufacturing Execution Systems.
- APPLICATION ARCHITECT (Design). Develop & maintain system designed documentation and review all design modification and assist the system integration impact.
- CHANGE COMPLIANCE. Ensure user requirements are implemented, and the change complies with the internal policies. Additionally, develop & design security policies & procedures.
- TECHNICAL SUPPORT ADMINISTRATION. As assigned, prepare, review and consolidate reports or engineering studies on plant or system troubles and plant condition monitoring in order to support Management decision-making and plant trouble shooting and improvement needs.
- TRAINING. Provide coaching to lower levels engineers and supervise their work to ensure proper transfer of skills and work performance as per standards.
- REPORTS AND REVIEWS. Undertake tasks as needed or as assigned by Department management, such as Engineering document system improvement and troubleshooting etc.
Education & Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering specializing in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field.
- With combined experience: IT related and Plant Information Systems / Manufacturing Execution Systems in Oil Refining and Petrochemical manufacturing operations.
- Thorough knowledge of: SQL Server, Oracle, OSISoft PI, Data Acquisition/Historian Systems, OPC, Web Programming, LIMS, LabWare, Windows Server, Reporting Services, Yokogawa ExaQuantum, KPIs, Hardware, Networking Services, Windows Update, Anti-Virus, Application Whitelisting, SIEM, Backup & Recovery.
- Cybersecurity controls, Firewall, IDS, IPS. Thorough knowledge of engineering practices, calculation methods and design details related to plant information systems / Manufacturing Execution Systems.
