We are seeking an experienced Structural Manager to lead and oversee structural operations within our shipyard facility. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in managing complex structural projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
The role will be based in Saudi Arabia.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure that all structural related activities are meticulously planned, and that the plans and responsibilities are clearly communicated and understood by all relevant structural personnel.
- Develop comprehensive project/production plans, including detailed schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Provide sound and good knowledge on various types of steel works on vessels and rigs.
- Ensure all repair and maintenance work meet the required quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure, in conjunction with the Procurement Supply Chain Group, that all materials and equipment are procured and delivered in accordance with the production and project’s contract requirements.
- Ensure effective and consistent interaction with other disciplines, management and supervision as required.
- Monitor actual man-hours against budgeted man-hours and take appropriate steps to correct overruns and develop and manage project budgets, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
- Control the overtime to contribute to the best projects and gross margins.
- Ensure that all production/project materials are used as defined in procedures and manufacturer’s recommendations.
- Ensure that all installation, maintenance and commissioning activities concerning steel works and other related systems are carried out in accordance with the approved procedures.
- Liaise with the engineering department regarding the project’s steel works activities. Liaise with other trades to ensure project schedule adherence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Marine-related professional qualifications or relevant time served.
- In-depth knowledge of steel manufacturing processes, techniques, and materials used in MRO for ships and rigs in a shipyard environment. Familiarity with relevant industry standards, quality control procedures, and dimensional tolerances.
- Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet project timelines.
- At least 15 - 18 years’ experience in the Ship repair companies, Oil & Gas Industry, shipyard environment with real depth in steel works
