STAFF NURSE III

In charge of providing comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process and established professional standards.

Responsibilities
  • Provides total patient care as assigned according to core patient-care requirements and evidence-based plans.
  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care; participates in discharge planning for each patient.
  • Works with Case Management to achieve patient-care goals and reduce length of stay and waiting times.
  • Records all relevant information accurately, promptly, and in a compliant manner.
  • Notifies Head Nurse or designee of equipment failures, safety concerns, and supply shortages; monitors patient waiting areas for unusual events.
  • Contributes to department and system-wide cost-effectiveness savings; exercises prudent use of staff, equipment, and materials.
  • Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participates in ongoing education, training, and professional development as appropriate.
  • Fulfills other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing is required.
